Review

Haddie has had a really rough year after watching her sister suffer from breast cancer and lose that fight. Then she sees the impact of her sister's death on her brother-in-law and niece and decides she doesn't want anyone to fall in love with her so she doesn't cause that kind of pain. Haddie has kind of lost herself since her sister's death but I definitely enjoyed it when her blunt, no holds barred attitude comes out. Haddie has been using sex as a way to drive away the pain for a little while, but it doesn't work when she tries it with Becks because he comes back for more, and she wants him too. Sometimes Haddie's actions can be kind of frustrating but you can also 100% understand where she's coming from. She's scared and her solution to that fear is to run away from it and keep people at a distance.

Becks definitely gets my motor revving (I had to use a car analogy somewhere in here). He's generally got a laid back, country boy kind of vibe which I love, but he can also be swoonily alpha and just hot! I love how determined he is when it comes to Haddie. Even after the first time they were together when Haddie said it was no strings attached, he knew he would want more of her. So, he pursues her, charms her and wins her heart even when she's so reluctant to give it. He also proves that he's just such a good guy as well by how he sticks by Haddie when life throws more at them than they expected.

The romance between Haddie and Becks was sweet and sexy, with a good does of frustration thrown in. They have a constant push-pull relationship as Becks worked to get closer to Haddie whilst she desperately strived to push him away, even when she also yearned to be with him.

I was kind of surprised by the direction the story took towards the end, but it definitely made it all the more poignant and moving. Becks was the perfect man for Haddie and I absolutely adored them together. The last third of the book definitely gave me all the feels and I loved the way K. Bromberg mixed some really emotional subjects, but still with plenty of hot and heavy sexiness. I'll admit that I've not read the previous books in the Driven series, but I definitely NEED to go back and read Rylee and Colton's story now!

*I received a review copy from the published for my honest opinion. Thank you!
